General Information
Restored entirely from natural stone and wood, this marvelous two-storey house with a total of 185sq.m living area has a kitchen with dining area, a bedroom, and two bathrooms with toilets on the ground floor, while the first floor offers a lounge with a fireplace, two bedrooms, and bathroom with toilet. To the side of the house there’s a beautiful “mehana” (the typical Bulgarian tavern-styled room) with a fireplace and BBQ area, and the yard is laid with paving slabs.
This newly-renovated in the traditional architectural style typical for the region of the Strandja Mountains house is set within a garden of 300 sq. m situated in one of the best preserved architectural villages in the heart of the majestic Strandja Mountains just 17km from the market town of Malko Tarnovo. Strandja is not a beaten tourist path but it offers a unique and beautiful tourist adventure. In Strandja everybody will feel like a child of Mother Nature, well protected from the hustle and bustle of city life. The mountain is scarcely populated. Villages surrounded by grasslands, meadows and small fields lie dispersed on the mountain slopes of this endless green sea. The picturesque meanders of the clearest Bulgarian rivers, the Veleka and the border river Rezovska, wind through amazing valleys before they reach the sea. The Strandja Nature Park occupies one of the first places among the protected territories in Europe in terms of biological diversity. Over 50% of the Bulgarian flora is represented here with a big number of endemic, relict, rare and threatened Red Book species. The Strandja rhododendron (Rhododendron ponticum), flowering with fabulously beautiful violet flowers, is a symbol of the Strandja Mountains. The diversity of the fauna is also immense. Strandja has the biggest number of fresh-water fishes and the animal world is represented by reindeer, deer, wild boars, jackals, turtles, and lizards. "Stranger, you who come here, be healthy!" This blessing is inscribed on a marble tomb plate, built in the altar of the old Catholic Church in Malko Tarnovo and dates back to 2nd century BC. "For God's sake, stranger, do not stop in the middle of the road, but go on to enjoy Strandja's sea of virgin forests!", a Bulgarian writer said in the beginning of 20th century. One cannot but agree and set on a journey to explore the virgin mountains and try to unveil their mysterious secrets.
